Course Outline: MAP Art
- What and how you will learn.
An exciting arts and design course for 13 - 16 year olds to develop skills in all art styles and techniques from fine art to graphic design. Learners will build a portfolio of work to assist progression onto further arts and design courses.
- In this course you will cover:
Health and Safety in the art studio
Mark Making and Making - explore how to use a range of 2D and 3D techniques and media image making techniques.
Formal Elements - line, tone and colour, pattern and texture, form and shape, structure and composition
Visual Language - recognise how images, pictures (moving and still) and objects can communicate ideas or emotions.
- Additional Costs
There are no ongoing additional costs to this course; MAP provides all materials and equipment. However, we will charge a registration fee for all students submitted for accreditation.
- Qualifications needed to start
No formal qualifications are required for this course although demonstration of an interest in arts and/or design is preferable.
- Course length and start times
Courses run Monday to Friday during term-time. Attendance hours are 10am - 3pm.
- After the course
Learners will be supported to return to mainstream education either by returning to school or to progress onto Further Education.

- Fees
All places cost £60.00 per day (+VAT), which will be invoiced monthly.
